Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy is part of our Terms of Service and explains how subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds work for the Silaar API platform operated by Silaar LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
At a glance:
You can cancel any subscription at any time, and it will not renew. We offer a goodwill refund window within 7 days of a new paid charge, provided the Service has not been materially used. After that, paid periods are non-refundable.
1. How Our Subscriptions Work
Paid plans are recurring subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe, our payment processor. When you subscribe, you authorize automatic recurring charges until you cancel. Each billing cycle (monthly or yearly) grants access for that period.
Because the Service is digital and delivered instantly, fees reflect access to the Service rather than a physical good. This is why refund eligibility is limited, as described below.
2. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time, in any of the following ways:
- From your dashboard: use the cancellation option in your account;
- By email: contact billing@silaar.com with your account email.
Cancelling stops all future renewals. You keep full access to the Service until the end of the current paid period, after which your account reverts to the limits of the free plan (if any). Cancellation does not automatically delete your account — you can continue using the free tier, or request full account deletion separately.
3. Automatic Renewal
Unless you cancel before the renewal date, your subscription will automatically renew for successive periods of the same length, and the then-current fee will be charged to your payment method through Stripe. If you do not wish to renew, you must cancel before the renewal date.
4. Refund Eligibility
We offer refunds on the following basis:
- Goodwill refund window (7 days): If you request a refund within seven (7) days of a new paid charge and have not made significant use of the Service during that cycle (i.e., your usage is minimal), we will refund the charge in full.
- Significant usage: If you have consumed a substantial portion of your quota during a cycle, that cycle is considered "used" and is non-refundable.
- Outside the window: Charges older than 7 days are non-refundable, except where required by law (for example, mandatory consumer refund rights in the EU, UK, or certain U.S. states).
- Service unavailable: If the Service is materially unavailable for an extended period due to our fault, we may, at our discretion, issue a pro-rated credit or refund for the affected period.
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email billing@silaar.com with:
- Your account email address;
- The charge date and amount (or invoice number);
- A brief reason for the request.
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued back to the original payment method through Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
6. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at billing@silaar.com before initiating a chargeback. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in account suspension.
7. Free Trial / Free Tier
Any free tier or trial we offer is provided at no cost and has no refund implications. Free-tier benefits, quotas, and availability may be changed or discontinued at any time.
8. Plan Changes
If you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, the change takes effect immediately and any price difference is prorated according to the rules displayed at the time of change. Downgrading may take effect at the end of the current cycle.
9. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable law, including the right to a withdrawal period in the EU and UK for certain distance contracts, or refund rights under applicable U.S. state law. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your right of withdrawal may apply unless you have expressly requested that the Service begin during the withdrawal period and acknowledged the loss of that right once the Service is fully provided.
